Lady Emerald Knights Lose
Wed. at Westmoreland
Every rollercoaster can only climb so long before
plunging back to earth.
Same for the Lady Emerald Knights' softball season. After
three high-flying, high-scoring wins in a row, Hamilton
came back to earth Wednesday, losing 11-4 at
Westmoreland.
The Lady Knights spotted Westmoreland an 8-0 lead
after the first two innings. Hamilton closed the gap, only
to have Westmoreland widen it again.
Hamilton's Samantha Martin, gave up one walk, struck
out three and surrendered 11 hits, all singles. At the plate
she had a bases loaded double to collect three RBIs.
Also hitting for Hamilton were:
+ Jenna Whyatt with an RBI triple;
+ Nicole Beers was two for three with an RBI;
+ and Mallory Carhart had a double.
Hamilton has Thursday off, and is at Morrisville-Eaton
Friday. They play two games Saturday at home in the
Hamilton Sports Boosters tournament.
