Move Over Mr. Wizard ... Or Bill Nye The Science Guy for the Younger Science Whizes
HCS, Colgate and Bookstore Help Students Get Ready for the Science Fair Season
With nary a baking soda
volcano in sight, a crowd of
young scientists gathered
Wednesday night at the
Colgate
Bookstore for a Family Science
Night. Organizers say the
annual school science fair is not
far off and this was an attempt
to get kids enthused about
science. Judging by Wednesday
night, it worked.

Pat McGill, second grade
teacher, and Mark Cohen, fifth
grade teacher, worked with
Katie and Don Duggan-Haas
(assistant professor of
educational studies) at Colgate
to organize the event.

Numerous Colgate seniors set
up interactive science displays
and demonstrated to the kids
and their parents.

The event was held in the
bookstore's third floor public
space.
