Cows Electrocuted by Falling Wire

State Police today confirmed that 10 cows on a Hubbardsville farm were electrocuted Friday morning when someone trimming trees brought down an electrical line. Details remain incomplete, but a Trooper verified the incident occurred yesterday at 9:42 a.m. at 1897 Excell Road. Troopers were called to the scene to direct traffic. Electricity to the area was out until late afternoon. Check back for details.

The Southern Madison County Volunteer Ambulance Corps -- a.k.a. SOMAC -- hosts an open house next Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at its facility at 88 Lebanon Street. The open house is followed by SOMAC's annual meeting that will begin at 6 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
