Colgate men's soccer freshman Jimmy McLaughlin has signed with Major League Soccer club Philadelphia Union today. "Although we are disappointed to be losing such a great player, and a person of such high character, I could not be happier for Jimmy," said head Coach Erik Ronning.

Colgate women's soccer junior Jillian Kinter was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Mid-Atlantic Second Team. The Raiders completed the 2011 season with an 11-6-2 overall record and a 4-1-2 league mark, which earned them the 2011 Patriot League Regular-Season Title.

The Colgate men's soccer team advanced to the Patriot League Championship game Friday afternoon when it defeated Lehigh 5-4 in the second semifinal game of the 2011 Patriot League Tournament in Washington, D.C. After a scoreless double overtime game, the Raiders were able to advance on penalty kicks, scoring all five of their kicks while senior goalkeeper Chris Miller made a save on Lehigh's second penalty kick to give the team the win.

Colgate women's soccer junior Jillian Kinter and freshman Jenna Raepple were named the 2011 Patriot League Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year respectively today. The pair was also named to the All-Patriot League first team, while teammates senior co-captain Maddie Malone and freshman Caroline Brawner were second team selections.

Senior co-captain Steven Miller recorded his first hat trick of his career Tuesday night to lead the Colgate men's soccer team to a 3-3 double overtime tie with Harvard in its final non-conference game of the regular season. Colgate ends its regular season against Navy Saturday at 4 p.m. at home.

The Colgate men's soccer team secured its fourth Patriot League win on Saturday afternoon, beating Bucknell 2-1. Senior co-captain Steven Miller led the team with three points from the game-winning goal and an assist. Matt Schuber scored the opening goal. The Raiders are now 4-1-1 in the league.

Men's Soccer Wins in 2OT

Junior Shane Conlin scored a late goal in the final minute of double overtime to lift the Colgate men's soccer team past Lafayette 1-0. After a slow 90 minutes in which both teams struggled to find any offense, the Raiders were finally able to break the 109-minute scoreless dry spell to win the game. Junior Mike Reidy had the assist in the goal.

Colgate women's hockey junior Brittany Phillips and freshman Melissa Kueber were named the ECAC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week respectively today for their performances in the team's two wins over Lindenwood last weekend. Phillips received the Player of the Week award after collecting a total of 10 points in the two games. The Raiders will resume play Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Syracuse at 7 p.m.
