Keith Tyburski Named Colgate Men's Golf Coach

One of the best golfers ever to carry a bag for HCS is back on the links at Seven Oaks.

Keith Tyburski, who graduated from HCS in 2001, today was named head coach of the Colgate men's golf team. Tyburski served as the Raiders' interim head coach last fall and led them to a first-place finish at the Colgate Invitational.

While playing for HCS Hall of Honor Golf Coach Gary Rider, Tyburski made the state high school tournament three times. He finished 10th as a sophomore and fourth as a junior.

“I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity Colgate has provided me,” said Tyburski. “I look forward to working with the team and helping them mature and develop both on and off the course.”

After HCS, Tyburski graduated from Western Carolina University in 2006 and played professionally on various mini circuits across the country. While playing professionally, he worked with renowned golf trainer Jack Lumpkin, who has mentored such players as Davis Love III, Jonathan Byrd as well as numerous other PGA Tour pros.

During his collegiate career, Tyburski recorded a win at the 2004 Western Carolina Intercollegiate Invitational and placed in the top-10 four times for the Catamounts. He was also named to the all-Southern Conference academic team four times and was the 2005-06 student athlete athletic counsel representative.
