HCS' Alex Brink scored twice and added an assist as the Central team won the bronze medal in the recently-completed Empire State Games in Buffalo

On Sunday, CNY lost 3-1 to Long Island. The win gave the team from the Island thre silver medal.

HCS junior Alex Brink scored in the third period Friday for the Central New York hockey team in its game against Hudson Valley in Empire State Games competition in Buffalo.

Brink scored with 11 minutes to play in the third period to give CNY a 2-1 lead. But, Hudson Valley score with 1:18 left to tie the score at 2-2.

Brink now has a goal and an assist.

When the Central New York boys scholastic hockey team took to the ice today in Buffalo for the Empire State Games, HCS' leading scorer suited up.

Alex Brink, who will be a junior this year, led the Emerald Knights in scoring this past season. He had 30 goals and 13 assists, second in Section III Division II. He was named to the section all star team and was the runner up for player of the year.

Central won their opener Thursday afternoon against the team from the Adirondack region. CNY won 6-0 and Brink had an assist.

The team from the middle of the state has won medals in 13 of the last 14 Games, including the '08 gold.

Brick will play in five games this weekend.
