Downtown Update:
Parkside &  Parry's Expand;
Fiber Artist Locating Here
What do you get when you combine a former art
gallery with a former office supply store?

An expanded restaurant, of course.

Parkside Deli & Catering, which was burned out of
its former Broad Street location moved into the
former Evergreen Gallery storefront in the Smith
Block. Now, the popular restaurant is expanding
next door into the former P.J. Jones.

Carolyn Gherardi said work is well under way, and
she expects the addition to be open in about two
weeks. The expansion will double the amount of
seating for Parkside.

Parry's Expands
While one Hamilton restaurant expands, another
fades in to history.

Parry's on Utica Street has undertaken an
expansion of its own. It has added the 600 square
feet at the back of the store formerly occupied by
the Hideaway kitchen, which had recently closed.

Parry's will use the additional 600 square feet to
stock more seasonal items and general expand
existing merchandise display.

Jane Porter Comes to Town
Jane Porter, a Chads Ford, PA woman who
became familiar with Hamilton when a family
member attended Colgate, is opening a business on
Broad Street between the library and Park United
Methodist Church.

Porter is a fiber artist and boutique clothing
designer. The wool she dyes and some of the
clothes she designs are already available locally at
Evergreen Gallery.

In addition, Porter's husband is a photographer and
is expected to have a gallery of his works in the
former residence.

No timeline for an opening has been announced.
