| Emerald Knights Mini-Reunion Held When Cortland Beats Hamilton |
For the past several years, it was a given to see Kyle Mason and
matt Martin on the baseball diamond together.
Mason was an outstanding catcher for the HCS Emerald Knights
throughout high school. Martin was one of the best pitchers
Mason caught in those years. Both graduated last June.
The two had a modest reunion earlier this week when
Cortland State swept both ends of a double-header with
Hamilton College.
Mason is a freshman catcher for Hamilton and Martin is a first
year pitcher for Cortland.
Nationally second-ranked Cortland Red Dragons completed its
regular season with 14-0 and 12-4 victories over Hamilton.
The Red Dragons (38-3) take a school-record 34-game winning
streak into next week's NCAA Division III tournament.
Cortland is most likely going to be the top seed in a regional
held at Falcon Park in Auburn May 14-18.
Hamilton ended its season 10-21.
