Opera House Announces Season
In the beginning, he was a Byrd. Then a Flying Burrito Brother and
then loaned his name to the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band before
fronting the Desert Rose Band.

That's just one part of the musical pedigree of
Chris Hillman, who is
one of the headliners of this year's season at the Earlville Opera
House. The remainder of the lineup includes folk/blues legend
Odetta and bluegrass icons Peter Rowan and Tony Rice.

In between is a mix of singer/songwriters, traditional cajun/creole
and some Celtic tunes. And, there is the opera house's series of
family concerts as well.

This year's entire schedule includes:

May 23: An Evening with A Joyful Noise, the local youth chorus
directed by Alyssa Volker;

June 7: Singer/songwriter
Dan Bern;

June 13: Chris Hillman & Her Pedersen, country rock;

June 21: Singer/songwriter
Cheryl Wheeler;

July 11: Quiet Riot (not the heavy metal band) a.k.a. Bill and David
Mettler provide storytelling and sound effects to discuss conflict
resolution;

July 18:
Peter Rowan & Tony Rice, bluegrass;

July 20:
Osubi I. Craig & The Prophecy Music Project, African music
and dance that is part of the Hamilton Music Mix;
